Security is a looming issue for businesses. The threat landscape is increasing, and attacks are becoming more sophisticated. Emerging technologies like IoT, mobility, and hybrid IT environments now open new business opportunity, but they also introduce new risk. Protecting servers at the software level is no longer enough. Businesses need to reach down into the physical system level to stay ahead of threats. With today’s increasing regulatory landscape, compliance is more critical for both increasing security and reducing the cost of compliance failures. With these pieces being so critical, it is important to bring new levels of hardware protection and drive security all the way down to the supply chain level. Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has a strategy to deliver this through its unique server firmware protection, detection, and recovery capabilities, as well as its HPE Security Assurance.

This RSR custom research report explores the impact of omnichannel methods on merchandising, marketing and the supply chain; specifically, what analytical capabilities address the challenges that omnichannel selling and fulfillment pose for retailers. Consumers today routinely begin their shopping journeys online, but complete their purchases in nearby stores, in their “home” stores or delivered directly to their doors. Retail analytics enables organizations to capture data from their customers' journeys. Retailers that successfully deliver relevant omnichannel experiences while gaining a more sophisticated understanding of demand (where and how it is initiated) will enhance their brands’ value and create compelling and profitable customer relationships.

Growth in new markets introduces new costs to control, regulations to manage, and supply chain complexities to solve. Longer, more complicated cold chains mean that collaboration with third party logistics providers (3PLs) can help make the difference between profitable simplicity and unmanageable complexity. Companies are increasingly relying on their 3PLs for services such as monitoring and intervention, contingency planning, and cost control. Reduce risk by improving packaging, visibility, and establishing QA best practices. Improved visibility, new tools, new monitoring capabilities and appropriate packaging can also help drive down costs for shippers.

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software can help your company keep up with the increasing complexity of developing today’s high-tech products. While smaller companies may use relatively simple Product Data Management (PDM) tools, larger companies rely on full-featured PLM systems that help automate processes and share data across global supply chains. Mid-size companies can feel stuck because PDM is too basic, but PLM feels out of reach. This resource will help you: • Recognize why “simple” solutions fall short and do not support your capabilities • Better connect to customers and the supply chain • Drive higher product development speed • Get started with the right PLM solution Midsize manufacturers need a system that quickly delivers the core capabilities they need to streamline product development but also gives them room to grow value over time. So, what’s the right size PLM to fit a midsized high-tech company? Download this resource and take a look.

Industrial Equipment Manufacturers have to connect closely with customers and introduce new products quickly and efficiently to meet their needs. While smaller Industrial Equipment Manufacturers may be able to control, access, and share product data with relatively simple Product Data Management (PDM) tools, larger Industrial Equipment Manufacturers rely on full-featured PLM systems that help automate processes and share data across global supply chains. Industrial Equipment Manufacturer companies may find themselves in-between because: • Product and organizational complexity drive them beyond basic PDM capabilities • A full-featured PLM implementation may feel out of reach They need to choose a system that quickly delivers the core capabilities they need to streamline product development but also gives them room to grow value over time. What’s the right size PLM to fit an Industrial Equipment Manufacturer? Let’s take a look.

There is little question that cloud is well established as a way to deliver business applications. Based on IDC research, over 70% of manufacturing companies are using hosted applications somewhere within their supply chain, with another 25% considering it. The most popular supply chain management (SCM) application areas are transportation related (transportation management, global trade management), where the "network effect" (i.e., carrier pooling, regulatory impact) can leverage both shared knowledge and existing connectivity along with sales and operations planning, demand signal management, and business intelligence/analytics. The concern that cloud is "risky" is increasingly taking a back seat to the perceived benefits of the technology. Indeed, those benefits, both achieved and anticipated, are significant, including cost, speed of implementation, and the ability to "consume" new capabilities and functionality easily and transparently.

The Internet of Things enables retailers to do three basics better and faster: 1) Sensing who customers are and what they’re doing, 2) Understanding customer behavior and preferences, and 3)Acting on that insight to create a more engaging customer experience. - There are high-potential IoT applications in supply chain, in “smart store” operations, and especially in providing an engaging experience to the “connected customer.” IoT data can anticipate where the customer is headed and how to meet her there. - Much of the IoT ground, in both data management and analytics, may be unfamiliar. Retailers and their IT organizations have to be realistic about the technological challenges, their own capabilities, and where they need assistance. - To differentiate through IoT, focus on the analytics. Devices and their data — and even their platforms — are commodities. Advantage goes to the retailer who does the most with the data to engage the connected customer.
