Expectations for Customer Service continue to rise around the globe. Customers expect more from brands when it comes to convenience, resolution times, and agent expertise. Evolving customer preferences are tightly linked to innovations in digital technology, and brands must embrace both in order to keep pace with heightened expectations. The good news is that brands that can deliver on expectations are rewarded with higher rates of customer retention and loyalty. The Microsoft 2017 State of Global Customer Service survey polled 5,000 people from Brazil, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. We continue to find commonalities along with distinct differences between locals. And though people in all age groups are embracing new digital trends, millennials especially are shaping the way brands need to think about the future of customer service engagement.

The first event in the Partnering with Certainy Webinar Series, "Customer Demands at the Edge." Trends like IoT are driving customer experience expectations in a way that demands resiliency in local edge environments. As a result, we’re seeing a rise of edge computing (compute power coming out of the cloud and into the access layer). Customer demands manifest themselves differently based on things like company size and segment. For example, a retail customer’s business imperatives might look different from a doctor’s office. But one thing remains constant: A standardized, redundant, and repeatable physical infrastructure can protect the availability of these now-critical access-layer IT assets. APC by Schneider Electric has: The solutions you need to deliver a standardized, redundant, & repeatable infrastructure to your customers The tools you need to configure them, The alliances & certifications you trust & rely on, The program to make it profitable. Part 2 in our Partnering with Certainty Webinar Series, "Customer Demands at the Edge." In our last webinar, we discussed how trends & technologies like IoT and its many applications have helped drive an Always On, Always Connected mentality that has completely evolved customer experience standards. These demands are driving a need for resiliency in local edge environments, meaning compute & storage capacity is now coming back on premise for many applications – especially in industries like Healthcare, Retail, Finance, and Education. In other words, this highly distributed access layer is now becoming a compute layer – one that is mission-critical to delivering a flawless (or at least acceptable) customer experience. These environments are often make-shift wiring closets (janitor’s closets, back rooms, etc.) with no dedicated IT staff per each location. More than ever before, Healthcare, Retail, Finance, and Education customers are turning to solution providers to be that “dedicated IT staff” to find and fix problems before they start, so that the customer (or patient, or student) experience they’re working to provide remains a good one. APC by Schneider Electric has: Connected Products making it easy to remotely monitor your customers’ environments Including our NEW Smart-UPS with APC SmartConnect – the industry’s first cloud-connected UPS! A Managed Service Program to help you develop & monetize power as a managed service Fill out your information and click "Register" to watch part 2 of our Partnering with Certainty Webinar Series, “Customer Demands at the Edge: Fix My Problem Before it Starts.” This webinar originally aired on October 19th, 2017.

In the midst of an overwhelming amount of disruption taking place in the retail banking industry, a clear path to success has emerged. Banks that want to continue to gain and retain loyal customers must make it easier to bank with them. According to a survey that included 760 different banks and credit unions, the most important priority for 2017 and beyond is the removal of friction from the customer journey.1 To clarify, today’s customer journey includes both the customer experience at local branch locations as well as their experience while interacting with websites, mobile apps, smart watches, and anything else that is connected to the Internet. The battleground for customers has shifted to the digital world, and retail banks must adapt quickly as crafty Fintech startups and tech giants like Amazon, Apple, and Google continue to push the limits of what is possible with technology. If digital channels aren’t approached correctly, they can add complexity to the customer experience in

Consumers expect a seamless, high-quality experience in today’s mature app economy. They want brands to keep up with new technologies like geo-fencing and personalization, as well as the latest ecosystems like voice assistants and connected cars. With this high bar for quality, QA organizations often struggle to keep up with: 1. Rapid Release Schedules 2. Personalization 3. New Technologies (Voice, AI) 4. Geo-Awareness and Localization 5. Device Fragmentation 6. Unexpected Customer Use Cases The cost of failure is high in QA. Time, money, and customer loyalty are all at risk when digital experiences don’t meet users’ high expectations.

Location3 client Mountain Mike’s Pizza and their franchisees face significant competitive challenges when advertising on Google, which ultimately requires the need to be both incredibly efficient with campaign setup and incredibly precise when managing bids and local budgets. A quick Google keyword search for “pizza near me” in Mountain Mike’s home state of California yields over 58,000,000 results (“pizza delivery” yields 56,000,000) and often features a predictable set of ad results from industry giants like Domino’s and Pizza Hut, among others. Suffice it to say that buying “pizza”-related terms in AdWords can get incredibly expensive, incredibly quickly, if a local franchisee’s budgets and bids are not managed with precision. When you combine that fact with limited location-level advertising budgets, our team atLocation3 was presented with a significant challenge in helping Mountain Mike’s Pizza generate increases in customer pizza orders while simultaneously ensuring that ad spen

Only a handful of industries have been transformed by the digital age the way banking has. Internet and mobile banking, digital wallets, and a raft of new and innovative products have redefined “the bank” from a local, brick-and-mortar branch to an anytime-anywhere process. The new banking environment has opened opportunities for national, regional, and community banks alike, which are no longer constrained to serve only customers located in the areas where they maintain a physical branch presence. But it has also brought challenges associated with collecting, processing, analyzing, storing, and protecting vast amounts of new data, from multiple locations and sources.

In recent years, advancements in technology have exponentially impacted how quickly and effectively customers are able to get what they want. This has triggered a sea change in rising expectations where the overall customer experience is concerned. In turn, customer service, once considered by many to be a cost center, can now provide a coveted point of differentiation. All of which is to say, a business’ success now largely depends on disrupting the traditional customer service model. So how can your business do that? In this paper, I’ll answer that question – by describing a more disruptive model of customer service and, where applicable, explaining how Salesforce can support that model.

Envision this situation at a growing bank. Its competitive landscape demands an agile response to evolving customer needs. Fortunately, analytically minded professionals in different divisions are seeing results that positively affect the bottom line. • A data scientist in the business development team analyzes data to create customized • experiences for premium customers. • A digital marketer tracks and influences the customer journey for prospective • mortgage customers. • A risk analyst builds risk models for the bank’s loan portfolios. • A data analyst examines data about local customers. • A technical architect defines a new system to protect bank data from internal and • external cyberthreats. • An application developer builds a new mobile app for online customer portfolio • management. Between them, these employees might be using more than a dozen packages for analytics and data management.
